All our galleries are open. Visit the venue pages National, Portrait and Modern for more information about venues. Advance booking is required at the Scottish National Gallery and Modern Two and is recommended at our other venues.

We ask that you maintain physical distancing from others during your visit.

Hand sanitiser is available in key areas, along with increased cleaning regimes in toilets and other high use areas.

We have instituted a programme of deep cleaning of the Galleries and will have staff onsite cleaning all touch points throughout the day.

Admission is via a ticketed entry system. Admission is free, and tickets should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.

We have signed up to the Good to Go scheme to show we are committed to meeting current Scottish Government health and safety standards for our buildings, staff and visitors.

Relax and explore the grounds
Visit the grounds at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Explore the sculpture park. Enjoy coffee or a snack at the Modern Two pop-up café.

Our partner galleries

Duff house
A five-star country house and gallery, run in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council, Historic Scotland and the National Galleries of Scotland. Highlights on display include works by El Greco, Gainsborough and Raeburn.

Paxton House
Situated on the banks of the River Tweed, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Paxton House boasts the largest purpose-built picture gallery in a Scottish country house. On display is a large group of paintings on loan from the National Galleries of Scotland.
